Confident about huge oil discovery close to Iran border, says minister

Caretaker Minister for Maritime Affairs and Foreign Afairs Abdullah Hussain Haroon said that Exxon Mobil has drilled up to 5,000 metres of the Iranian border and is optimistic about a huge discovery of oil, a local media outlet reported on Saturday.

Speaking at a meeting at the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Haroon highlighted the need to integrate Karachi port with Port Qasim to enable both to supplement each other, adding that the government will set up a $10 billion generation complex with the company.
