MAKKAH: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has arrived in Saudi Arabia to attend Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers’ meeting on Wednesday (today), ARY News reported.
FM Qureshi will represent Pakistan at the 4th Summit of OIC Council of Foreign Minister’s meeting in Makkah today.
Talking to media before his departure to KSA, on Tuesday morning, he said the situation of Middle East and the rising tensions in Iran will also come under discussion during the meeting.
Qureshi is also scheduled to meet with other counterparts, and OIC’s Secretary General during the meeting.
He said the session of Kashmir Contact Group is also expected in which the participants will share their view points.
Foreign Office said today that Prime Minister Imran Khan will also be visiting Saudi Arabia to participate in the 14th OIC Summit on 31 May 2019.
The statement issued by the FO said, “The Prime Minister will, among other things, focus on the imperatives of solidarity and unity of the Ummah, support for Muslim causes including Jammu and Kashmir, countering growing Islamophobia, and ensuring educational and scientific excellence.”
