KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday directed to release three convicts in a case relating to abduction and murder of a citizen, ARY News reported.
The high court conducted hearing of an appeal filed by the convicts against their sentences given by a trial court in abduction and murder case.
SHC announced its verdict which was reserved earlier, ordering to release the three convicts including a woman after annulling the trial court’s decision.
It is pertinent to mention here that Malir court had pronounced death sentence to Saifullah and Amjad, whereas, their co-accused Aneesa was sentenced to life imprisonment.

According to police, the persons were involved in kidnapping and killing of a citizen, Jumma Khan, in 2010.
On April 23, the Supreme Court had released a murder suspect Shahid Hameed over lack of evidence in the case, ARY News reported.
The case proceedings were conducted by a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa.
During the hearing, the CJP remarked that the Almighty Allah also has a system of justice and everyone will give a testimony on the day of judgment.
He said the court was trying to improve system so that false evidences could no more surface during such cases.

The CJP said one of the key witnesses in the case was deputed as a revenue officer in Lahore for 20 years, and “if he turns up before the court and registers a false testimony, the challenge becomes greater to streamline system of the country,” he added.
He said how could be the man posted in Lahore become a witness in the case that actually occurred in Sheikhupura.
The court remarked that the prosecution couldn’t furnish strong evidence in the case. The apex court also pardoned the eye-witness Ghazanfar who had given a false statement before the court.
A trial court in Islamabad had given a death sentence to Shahid Hameed for allegedly killing a man in 2009.
