Blast in Orakzai Agency kills nearly 25, injures 35

PESHAWAR: A bomb was exploded in the Jumma Mandi Bazar, situated in the area of the lower Orakzai Tribal district, that killed nearly 25 people and injured 35 others, ARY News reported.

According to details, the blast took place outside the gate of a seminary. As many as 35  people were injured, who have been shifted to the hospital.

As per sources, almost 25 civilians lost their lives during the incident, while security forces have reached the site.

The affected area is located in Hangu town of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Earlier today, two policemen were martyred and three assailants were killed in a terrorist attack on the Chinese Consulate in Karachi.

No civilian casualties were reported as per police sources and the Chinese Consul General along with Chinese mission of the Consulate remained unharmed during the incident.

The security officials said that the assailants failed to enter the Consulate and two of them were shot dead outside the building by the rangers snipers.

Heavy contingents of rangers and police arrived at the site and the exchange of fire took place between the assailants and forces, as the Chinese Consulate came under attack.

As per reports, the attack was started with an explosion of hand grenade, thrown by terrorists, at security guards deployed at the entrance gate of the Consulate.
